Becky Moody Leads FEI Dressage World Cup Final After Grand Prix in Fort Worth

At the FEI dressage World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Becky Moody took an early lead with her homebred KWPN gelding, Jagerbomb, delivering a near-flawless Grand Prix test scoring 76.761%. The British rider’s strong partnership and composure set a high standard, closely followed by 23-year-old American Christian Simonson, who impressed with 75.413% on Indian Rock, and Sweden’s Patrik Kittel, the 2024 World Cup winner, who placed third with 72.869% on Touchdown despite a costly mistake. The competition remains wide open as Saturday’s Kür will reset scores, promising an intense showdown among Moody’s momentum, Simonson’s fresh talent, and Kittel’s experience.

Other notable performances included Ecuador’s Julio Mendoza Loor, who scored 72.000% on Jewel’s Goldstrike, a horse he famously bought for just $20, finishing fourth and capturing hearts with his fairytale story. The leaderboard also features riders like Sandra Sysojeva, Moritz Treffinger, Alexa Fairchild, and Morgan Barbançon, highlighting a competitive field. With no points carried forward into the Kür and the absence of reigning champion Charlotte Fry, the title race is unpredictable, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion.
