Azlyn H., a member and current president of the Barn Buddies 4-H Club, was honored as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for February. Throughout her 4-H involvement, she has exhibited horses and flower gardens, with a particular passion for the horse project, where she has made many friends and learned valuable life lessons. One of her proudest moments was winning first place at the State Fair with her horse, Serta. Azlyn plans to pursue horse training and assist with her mother’s dog-walking business after graduation.
In addition to her leadership roles, Azlyn has actively participated in community service projects such as bell ringing for the Salvation Army, making bird feeders, dog blankets for the Humane Society, and cake boxes for the food shelf. Her 4-H experience has taught her important skills in teamwork and working with people of all ages. The Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club recognizes one outstanding 4-H member monthly at their breakfast meetings, celebrating youth achievements like Azlyn’s.
