Auburn Equestrian Prepares for Road Trip Against Texas A&M and SMU

The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team is set for its first road trip of the season, facing No. 4 Texas A&M on Friday in College Station and No. 7 SMU on Saturday in Dallas. Auburn, currently 1-0 with home wins over Baylor and Berry College, will use the same lineup for both western events, featuring key riders like Alexia Tordoff—who earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in Reining—and Sydney Swallom, whose Horsemanship ride was named NCEA Ride of the Week. The team’s Fences and Flat lineups will see slight adjustments between the two meets, with strong performers such as Ariana Marnell, who holds a 3-0 record this season.

Historically, Auburn holds a dominant 31-8 record against Texas A&M and a 12-5 record against SMU, having won the last three meets against the Aggies and splitting last season’s series with SMU. Auburn head coach Jessica Braswell acknowledges the challenge ahead, noting both opponents’ strengths at home, but expresses confidence in her team’s ability to compete. Fans can follow live scoring for the meets via the respective schools’ websites.
