Applications are now open through January 23 for the 2026 Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, organized by the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP). This premier North American competition focuses on retraining recently-retired Thoroughbreds and former broodmares, highlighting their athleticism, trainability, and versatility.
The event will be held from October 7-10 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, and offers $139,000 in prize money. As the flagship event of the RRP, the Thoroughbred Makeover aims to promote the successful transition of racehorses into new careers beyond the track.
