The application for an outdoor riding arena near Derrygonnelly village, adjacent to the Tir Navar Community Complex, was submitted by Declan Meehan in July and is currently under review by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. The arena is intended to provide a safe space for daily horse exercise, addressing safety concerns due to increased local traffic that makes walking horses on public roads unsafe.
This proposal is being evaluated within the framework of the Local Development Plan 2030 and the Fermanagh and Omagh Community Plan 2030, which set out strategic objectives for sustainable growth in housing, employment, and infrastructure. These plans guide planning decisions to ensure balanced and responsible development in the area.
