Andrew Gould Eliminated in Senior Championship Debut at European Dressage Championships

Andrew Gould’s senior championship debut at the European dressage Championships in Crozet, France, ended in disappointment when he was eliminated during his grand prix test while riding his 12-year-old stallion, Indigro. The pair struggled with fluency and balance early in the test, leading to the bell being rung and their subsequent elimination after a judge’s consultation. Indigro is currently under veterinary examination, with no official diagnosis yet, but is reported to be doing well.

Despite the setback, Andrew emphasized that Indigro’s welfare is his top priority and fully supports the judges’ decision. The British Equestrian World Class programme also expressed support for the elimination, highlighting the importance of horse wellbeing and promising thorough veterinary care to ensure Indigro’s recovery and future success. Both Andrew and the team remain optimistic about their prospects on the world stage.
