Durigampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, an NCC cadet from Andhra Loyola College, has been honored as the ‘Best Rider – Girls, Republic Day 2026’ for achieving the highest overall points among girl cadets nationwide. She demonstrated outstanding equestrian skills at the Republic Day camp, winning a gold medal in show jumping, a silver in fault and out game, and a bronze in dressage. Her accomplishments were officially recognized by the Directorate General of NCC, and she was felicitated by the Governor of Telangana and senior NCC officials.

In addition to her equestrian success, Vijaya Lakshmi maintains strong academic performance and aims to join the Defence Services by clearing the CDS examination. She expressed gratitude to her horse “Tara” and trainer Babu Rao for their support. The college principal, NCC officers, faculty, and students congratulated her for her dedication and perseverance.
