Andalusian Rescue Centre for Horses Gains Official Public Utility Status After Nearly Two Decades of Dedication

The Andalusian Rescue Centre for Horses (ARCH) in Alhaurín el Grande has been officially granted Utilidad Publica status by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, recognizing nearly 20 years of dedicated work rescuing and rehabilitating abused, neglected, and abandoned equines. This recognition reflects growing respect for animal welfare in Spain, supported by stronger protection laws and close cooperation with authorities like SEPRONA and local police, which enhance rescue efforts and ensure swift intervention.

ARCH also holds important government contracts for rehoming retired cavalry horses and caring for abandoned equines, demonstrating official trust in their work. Beyond rescue, the charity educates local communities, especially youth, to foster empathy and responsible equine care. Founder Jill Newman-Rogers emphasizes the need for continued donations and volunteer support to sustain and expand their life-saving mission. More information and ways to help are available on their website and social media channels.
