American Agri-Women Launch Lawfare Advisory Council to Protect Dairy Farmers and Ranchers

The American Agri-Women (AAW) has created a Lawfare Advisory Council to address the growing legal challenges faced by agricultural producers, recognizing that individual farmers cannot withstand costly, coordinated legal attacks alone. This Council acts as a centralized support system, providing access to legal expertise, financial aid, and political and communication resources, thereby enabling producers—especially in dairy farming and ranching—to defend themselves effectively without diverting focus from their core operations.

Unchecked legal battles, or lawfare, pose significant risks beyond court costs, draining farmers’ time and resources and threatening the survival of family farms. For the dairy sector, which operates on narrow profit margins influenced by volatile economics, litigation-induced disruptions can cause severe long-term damage, jeopardizing not only individual farms but also the broader food supply chain. The Council’s proactive approach aims to safeguard agricultural stability by mitigating these legal pressures.
