Hundreds gathered at the Courtfield Estate in Goodrich, Herefordshire, for The Courtfield Cup, an amateur horse race spanning nearly five miles. Thirty riders navigated challenging obstacles including hedges, gates, walls, and ditches, with Maurice Linehan winning the £1,500 prize. Linehan described the course as tough but rewarding, noting the fast pace and tricky jumps that caused many falls, highlighting the mix of banks and drains that tested both horse and rider.
The event took place at the historic childhood home of King Henry V, associated with the Vaughan family since 1563. The race attracted around 300 spectators who witnessed a demanding course set in a scenic and historically significant location, blending sport with heritage.
