The inaugural All-Women’s Ranch rodeo, hosted by the Routt County CattleWomen at The Home Ranch in Clark, brought together 15 teams of skilled women from Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming to compete in a timed, multi-task ranching competition. The event, which attracted over 450 attendees—far exceeding expectations—featured teams completing tasks such as unloading horses, sorting steers, branding, and roping within six minutes. The rodeo showcased the competitors’ ranching and horsemanship talents while raising approximately $15,000 for scholarships supporting local agricultural students.
The competition was spirited and challenging, with teams demonstrating teamwork and quick adaptability to the unpredictable behavior of the steers. The top three teams earned prizes, with the winning team, No Name, finishing in just under 2 minutes and 17 seconds. Organizers expressed gratitude for the strong community turnout and support, highlighting the event’s success in promoting ranching culture and empowering women in agriculture. The rodeo also marked a lively and engaging alternative to the group’s traditional fundraising activities.
