The 64th annual Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show took place in Harrisburg, with over 640 youth from 50 counties participating in 80 performance classes. Events included showmanship, horsemanship, equitation, pleasure, over fences, driving, western riding, reining, trail, and timed events. Class champions received champion ribbons, custom plates, and embroidered jackets, while reserve champions received gift certificates.
The Pennsylvania 4-H Recreational and Alternative Equine Activities programs include the Hoof Hour Awards recognition, promoting alternative activities with horses. Jefferson County was represented by thirteen equestrians who qualified for the show, with first place winners including Calista Reitz, Hunter Brown, and Kolton Hannold. Second and third place winners included Kaylee Nissel, Taylor Logsdon, and Emma Wilson, while fourth and fifth place winners included Ivy Nissel and Calista Reitz.
Other exhibitors from Jefferson County included Rylee Lindenpitz, Sophia Nissel, Claren McQuown, and Mackenzi Kanouff. Awards were given for various classes such as Pleasure Pony Driving, EWD Grooming and Showmanship, Barrel Race Ponies, and Equitation Over Fences. The event showcased the talent and dedication of youth involved in 4-H horse projects.
