4-H Horse Show to be Held July 5-6 at DeWitt County Fairgrounds

The annual 4-H Horse Show will take place July 5-6 at the DeWitt County 4-H Fairgrounds, featuring youth participants from DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt counties. This free, family-friendly event showcases a variety of classes including English, Western, and Trail riding, along with exciting games like barrel racing and keyhole. Over two days, 4-H members demonstrate their horsemanship skills, responsibility, and leadership developed through dedicated practice and mentorship.

Organized by the University of Illinois Extension, the 4-H program emphasizes youth development by empowering young people with hands-on experiences that build confidence and life skills. The event highlights the commitment of 4-H members and encourages community support, reflecting 4-H’s broader mission to prepare youth for successful futures through engagement in leadership, STEM, and civic activities.
