One week before the Deschutes County Fair, the 4-H horse fair took place, featuring “gaming day” events such as barrel racing and cow sorting where competitors raced against the clock. Participant Amelia Harris highlighted the competition as a valuable opportunity to deepen horse knowledge and build friendships.
Looking ahead, 4-H members will return to the Fairgrounds on Wednesday with a variety of animals including goats, chickens, and rabbits to compete in the broader county fair events.
