The 4-H and FFA Horse Show at the 123rd Missouri State Fair began on July 24, 2025, at the Mathewson Exhibition Center in Sedalia, featuring riders from across Missouri demonstrating their horsemanship skills. Among the competitors is Mallory Black from Linn County’s South Eagle 4-H Club, who has been training with her quarter horse, Ava, since March. Black, a five-year rider, enjoys participating in multiple events, particularly Western Pleasure.
The horse show events will continue through Sunday at the fairgrounds, serving as the opening contests for the state fair. The full 123rd Missouri State Fair officially starts on August 7, with livestock competitions beginning earlier on August 5.
