A 22-year-old woman tragically died in a horse riding accident in Ollon, Vaud, on Wednesday. While leading her horse by the reins along a road, the horse suddenly bolted, dragging her by the neck for several hundred meters as the lead rope became wrapped around her neck.

Despite efforts by bystanders and emergency services to resuscitate her, the woman died at the scene. The Vaud public prosecutor’s office has since opened a criminal investigation into the incident.
