The 2025 Northeast Region 4-H Horsemanship Clinic and Show, held June 20-22 at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Barton, provided 4-H members with opportunities to improve their horsemanship skills, learn horse care, and compete in various riding and knowledge contests. Activities included fitting and showmanship instruction, English and Western riding lessons, drill team practice, and general knowledge competitions. Younger participants and those without horses enjoyed crafts, scavenger hunts, and workshops. The Kingdom Hoofbeats 4-H Club earned top honors for stable management and drill team performance, while individual awards recognized outstanding sportsmanship and competition results across multiple age and skill levels.
Organized by the Northeast Region 4-H Horse Committee and University of Vermont Extension educators, the event featured support from local 4-H leaders and community sponsors, including Tractor Supply Company. The clinic fostered skill development, camaraderie, and community spirit among youth horse enthusiasts from Vermont and neighboring states.
