Twelve-year-old Maverick Wright, a talented equestrian from the Walla Walla Valley area skilled in dressage and show jumping, is set to compete at the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) North American Youth Championships. The event will take place from July 29 to August 3 at Flintfield’s Horse Park in Traverse City, Michigan, as part of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival.
Representing the United States dressage Federation Region 6—which includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, and western Montana—Wright will compete alongside his pony, Maple Lane Kero. This championship is the only annual FEI event held in North America, featuring Olympic equestrian disciplines where participants from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico compete for team and individual medals.
